I recently performed a performance art piece where I sat in a public, busy area mid-day and ate one bite out of 16 pounds of apples.  While I got many stares and confused glances, I noticed people were wondering why there were nearly untouched apples rolling on the ground.  They all traced it back to me.   One lady even asked me, "did you eat all those apples yourself?" Yes, I did.  But in doing so, I was wasting.

In an attempt to make a statement on food waste, I was only adding to this issue.  While the first bite of an apple might  be the best bite, it is one less bite someone doesn't have.  While I was performing my video, I realized my piece was not only on food waste but also the uneven consumption of food throughout the world.  We have a large amount of obesity contrasting with a large amount of hunger.
